This Week in the LISFL - 10/30/16

New York Serbia first team before their game against New York Irish Rovers

10/30/16 - This week in the LISFL saw a return to league action with several big games, which gave teams opportunities to establish themselves as front runners to qualify for the play-offs in May.

First Division

New York Polet hosted Glen Cove Avellino on Friday night in games that were rescheduled from earlier in the season. Glen Cove continued their strong start to the season with a 7-2 win over Polet. Tyler de la Torre lead the way with a hat trick, while Domenico Caracciolo added 2 goals. Andrew Quinones and Jonathan Padilla each added a goal for Glen Cove. Abraham Bartoah and Andres Franco were the Polet goalscorers.

The reserve game ended at 1-1 with Leo Goncalves scoring for Polet and Huerta "Izzy" Quiroz scoring for Glen Cove.

On Sunday, East Hampton FC came away from Forest Park with a big 2-0 win. Julian Barahona and Edwin Membreno-Maradiaga were the goalscorers for East Hampton, who continued their strong start to the season.

A goal by Edwin Hernandez gave Forest Park a 1-0 win over East Hampton in the reserve game.

Kew Forest shook off their slow start to life in the LISFL and came away with a 3-1 win over New York Polet. Tenzin Yougal scored twice and Gonzalo Coronel added a goal for the "Huntsmen". Misin Shala scored the goal for Polet.

Two goals from Anderson Osorio, and a goal each from Robert Filipovic and Javier Hernandez gave Polet a 4-0 win in the reserve game.

A late goal by Jeffrey Castaneda gave New York Irish Rovers a 1-0 win over New York Serbia. Earlier, Rovers had won the reserve game by a score of 5-1. Anatoliy Taranenko had a hat trick for Rovers, while Rafiu Olanrewaju and Darrian Chambers each added a goal.

Glen Cove Avellino picked up another win on Sunday, by a score of 3-0 over Real New York FC. Tyler de la Torre, Andrew Quinones, and Scott Embrey were the goalscorers for Glen Cove who lead their division with 16 points from 6 games.

The reserve game ended at 1-1 with Rohan Smith scoring for Real NY and Okuda Mortki scoring for Glen Cove.

Second Division

New York West Indies United defeated West Division leaders Floral Park FC by a score of 5-0. Ronald Henry, Fernander Demas, Jean Ade, Sardou Figaro, and Watson Jn Baptiste were the West Indies goalscorers.

SS Cosma Damiano continued their winning ways with a 2-0 win over Mineola Portuguese. Luigi Prudente and Ivan Paredes were the goalscorers for Cosma Damiano.

College Point FSC defeated Oyster Bay Park by a score of 1-0.

Third Division

Hicksville American SC defeated Port Jefferson Fusion by a score of 6-1. Favio Garay led the way with 4 goals, while Soloman Nawabi and Ryan Reichmann each added a goal.

The win allowed Hicksville to keep pace with Kosmos United CY who remain undefeated with a 5-2 win over NYCD Boldest Soccer FC. Sunatillo Khusanov scored 4 goals for Kosmos, and Ioannis Lambadarios added the fifth. Steven Bailey scored twice for the Boldest.

Over-30 Division

Glen Cove Avellino and Port Jefferson SC battled to a 3-3 draw. Victor Avwontom, Damion James, and Allan Maragh were the Glen Cove goalscorers. Pete Hansen scored twice and Michael Williams added the third for Port Jefferson.

Integral Kings defeated Garden City Centennials 5-2 on goals by Paul Armstrong, Ricardo Burke, Kendon Garland, Lawrance Maitland, and Anthony Sailsman. Rohan Hepburn and Rawle Scope were the Garden City goalscorers.

Istria gained revenge on New York Polet in the league's "Croatian derby" with a 4-1 win. Polet had knocked Istria out of the Reitschlin League Cup last week and Istria came into the game determined to even the score. Silvio Zuccelli scored a hat trick for Istria, while Osumanu Otoo added a goal. Gregg Westfall scored for Polet. The win also keeps Istria in first place in the West Division.

Goals from Vincent Moran, Drew Conroy, and Dane White gave Lindenhurst a 3-0 win over Oceanside United.

Baisley United came away from their clash with New York Hota Bavarians with a 6-3 win. Donovan Bernard had a hat trick, while Ryan Reid, Jefferson Hinds, and Darweshi Roberts also scored for Baisley. Maceo Wilson, Lucas Prochotsky, and Sean Sedacca were the Hota goalscorers.

Polonez came away with a 4-2 win over Long Island Gaels VSP. Grzegorz Kaplan, Arkadiusz Jaworski, Marek Tylutki, and Mariusz Dec scored for Polonez. Nathan Brill and Jonathan Boyce scored for the Gaels.

Over-40 Division

The deuces were wild for Lindenhurst in their 6-1 win over Baldwin. Gerry Lucey, Flavio Ferri, and Anthony Fassino each scored twice for Lindenhurst. Dezil Venard was the goalscorer for Baldwin. With the win, Lindenhurst were able to keep pace with division leaders Polonia.

Baisley United defeated Oceanside United by a score of 4-2. O'Neil Johnson and Marlon Campbell each scored twice for Baisley, while Godswill Emenike and Yavon Goren each scored once for Oceanside.

Goals by Angelo Sarmiento and Julio Marchant gave Oyster Bay Park a 2-0 win over Olympiacos New York.

Polonia continued their strong start to the season with a 7-2 win over New York Hota Bavarians. Piotr Golabek and Marcin Dziewulski each scored twice for Polonia, while Michal Siwiec, Jacek Zyzanski, and Tony Camaj each scored once. Cheiek Tidiani scored 2 goals to give him 18 on the season for Hota.

Over-50 Division

Baisley United took a 1-0 lead to half-time on a goal by Ian Powell, but NY Polet / Rudar scored twice in the second half to come away with the 2-1 win. Sinisa Vujasinovic and Sime Bergam were the Polet / Rudar goalscorers.

Wieslaw Halon scored twice and Andrzej Jab³onka added a goal to give Polonia a 3-0 win over Olympiacos New York.
