Paul Bednarski texted me. He was stung over 30 times by bees while at work.
They took him to hospital, but couldn’t save him. So unbelievable. I’m in shock...

GOODBYE, STEFAN
Glen Cove’s Mueller dies
Former Forest Park standout Stefan Mueller passed away on Saturday. He was 47.
The Glen Cove, N.Y. resident was a key performer for the great Glen Cove teams in the Long Island Soccer Football League in the 1980s and 1990s.
According to the LISFL website, Mueller was stung more than 30 times by bees at work. he was taken to the hospital, but could not be saved.
Mueller played in the LISFL before local amateur soccer was decimated by the advent of the U.S. Interregional Soccer League and Major League Soccer in the mid-1990s.
"I am deeply saddened and shaken to hear this terrible news," said former Forest Park goalkeeper Bob Liepa, now the sports editor of the Times-Review newspapers in Suffolk Country.."Stefan was a great teammate, a very good player and a fun-loving guy.
"What I’ll remember most about him were his enthusiasm for soccer and the laughs and good times he shared with his teammates. I joined Forest Park the same year he did, I believe it was in 1987 or 1988, and he was one of the reasons I had such an enjoyable time with the club. My heart goes out to his family. My prayers are with them and with Stefan."
Mueller is survived by his mother and father, Romana and Stephan L, his fiance of Pamela Aranda, brothers of Daniel (Jill), James (Abby) and Joe (Christie), among other family members.
A prayer service will be held at the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas Glen Cove on Wednesday morning.
Visiting hours are Tuesday 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Interment will be at the Locust Valley Cemetery.
Donations can be made to the Glen Cove Animal Lovers League or North Shore Animal League.
