10/16/16 - This week in the LISFL saw several clubs advance in the opening round of the ENYSSA Cup competitions. Leading the way in the Manning Cup were New York Polet who advanced to the quarter-finals. Forest Park and East Hampton FC also won their games to advance to the Round of 16.

Manning Cup

New York Serbia faced Cedar Stars Academy and lost 4-0. Serbia coach Zoran Matovic gave this account of the game, "The first team game between NY Serbia and Cedar Stars Academy was a 4-0 loss to Serbia who didn't have all of their players show up and some showed up late. Cedar Stars played a great game and have an amazing team and coaches. It was a pleasure to play against them".

New York Irish Rovers lost 5-1 to New York Greek Americans in a night game at Met Oval. Jeffrey Castaneda scored the lone goal for Rovers.

Glen Cove Avellino lost 1-0 to New York Athletic Club in a midday game at Travers Island.

New York Polet won 5-3 over Polonia Gwardia New York and will face Manhattan Celtic in the quarter-finals. Misin Shala had a hat-trick, while Kyle Schlesinger and Nicholas Bell each scored a goal for Polet.

An under-manned Real New York FC lost 7-0 to Lansdowne Bhoys on Tuesday night.

Forest Park defeated Doxa FC 2-1 to advance to the Round of 16 where they'll host New York Greek Americans. Daniel Marra and Ma Wa Kit were the goalscorers for Forest Park.

East Hampton FC defeated Zum Schneider FC 03 1-0 on a goal by Gehinder Garcia. With the win, East Hampton advance to play New York Athletic Club in the Round of 16.

Down 1-0 at home, Elysee Vilsaint converted a penalty kick to tie the game at 1-1 for Port Jefferson SC who hosted Manhattan Celtic. The game ended at 1-1 and Celtic came away with the win on penalty kicks by a score of 4-2.

D'Arpino Cup

Zoran Matovic gave the following account of New York Serbia's game with Polonia Gwardia New York, "In the game between Serbia reserves and Polonia reserves it was a back and forth game. Polonia started the scoring 20 minutes into the game and Serbia fought back and tied it with a goal by Alexis Adrian assisted by Dane Cardiel and that's how the first half finished.

Second half Polonia put in another goal on a counter-attack and Serbia tied it up 10 minutes later with a pk converted by Pavle Petricevic. Polonia took the lead for a third time with 10 minutes left and again Serbia leveled things up with a few minutes left in the game with a nice goal inside the box by Dane Cardiel, assisted by Sebastine Matta. With 1 minute left Serbia, had a chance to put the game away and take the win with a 1v1 chance, but it hit just outside the post.

The game went to penalties and Serbia's goalie stopped the first pk but the ref called it back and in the end Serbia lost 5-3 on pks goals by Pavle Petricevic, Alexis Adrian and Pavle Sredojevic."

Forest Park lost 2-1 to Central Park Rangers - Red. Edwin Hernandez scored the goal for Forest Park.

Port Jefferson Fusion lost 2-1 to Manhattan Celtic. Sean Hamilton scored the goal for the Fusion.

Ryan Lang opened the scoring for New York Irish Rovers in their game against New York Pancyprian Freedoms. The Pancyprians were able to tie it at 1-1 by converting a penalty kick in the second half. The game ended at 1-1 and went to penalty kicks, where the Pancyprians advanced by a score of 4-2.

East Hampton won their game on a forfeit by FC Spring Valley. With the win, East Hampton advanced to the Round of 16 where they'll face Glen Cove Avellino who defeated the New York Police Department team by a score of 2-0. Juan Mejia and John Pizarro were the Glen Cove goalscorers.

Port Jefferson defeated Doxa FC 7-1 and advanced to the Round of 16 where they'll face the New York Athletic Club.

Two goals by Anderson Osorio and 1 by Ivan Vulin were enough to give New York Polet a 3-2 win over Beyond FC. Polet advance to the Round of 16 where they'll face CD Iberia.

Real New York FC advanced on a forfeit by Bronx Supreme. Real will face New York Ukranians in the Round of 16.

Flamhaft Cup

Goals by Fabio Alves and David Rosa were enough to give Farmingville Portuguese a 2-1 over New York Ittihad FC. With the win, Farmingville advance to Round of 16 where they'll face Manhattan Kickers.

College Point FSC and Beyond FC battled to a 0-0 draw. Beyond were able to advance 5-3 on penalty kicks.

South Jamaica Portuguese lost 7-1 to Stal Mielec.

Mineola Portuguese Head Coach Terry Ullendahl gave the following account of their game with Bronx Supreme, "We entered the second half with the score still tied at 0-0. Jose Dores moved from outside midfielder to striker which put him in a perfect position to score our first goal. He also assisted Zach Gould with our second goal. Our keeper, Phil Ribeiror made a key save on a PK later in the second half. The Bronx Supreme scored their goal with about 15 minutes left in the game. High pressure from the Bronx in the last 15 minutes was held off by our defense. It was a great way to start the first round of the State Cup."

With the win, Mineola advance to the Round of 16, where they'll face El Salvador who defeated SS Cosma Damiano 4-0.

Olympiacos New York lost 3-0 to Central Park Rangers - White.

Two goals from Dorie James were not enough as Leros lost 4-2 to FC Japan.

Jelson Bonilla scored twice, but Oyster Bay Park were defeated 11-2 by Central Park Rangers - Red.

After a 1-1 tie during regulation time, College Point Flames advanced 6-4 on penalty kicks over CD Iberia. Joseph Meagher scored the goal for the Flames, who'll face FC Spring Valley in the Round of 16.

Flames coach Joe Brosi gave this account of the game, "We won in PK's. Great game. CD Iberia were a very good team. They had a PK in the first half. We came back and scored a beautiful goal in the 2nd half. After 3 minutes of extra time it was still tied. 6 shooters took pk's for each team and FDNY came out on top 1-1 FT,  6-4 PK's. FDNY Goalkeeper Jason Hickey was the man of the match making a number of quality saves throughout the game and following it up by saving two PK's for the win."

Sadou Figaro and Fernander Demas each scored a goal for New York West Indies United, who battled Oranje 1777 to a 2-2 tie. Oranje were able to win 4-2 on penalty kicks and advance in the competition.

Floral Park FC advanced to the Round of 16 due to a forfeit by Sporting Astoria. Inter New York SA will be Floral Park's opponent in the next round.

Four goals weren't enough for Oceanside United who lost on penalty kicks to the NYPD FC after the game ended at 4-4. Brighan Ortiz, Victor Colasacco, Greg Durso, and Brian Siergiej scored for Oceanside during regulation play.

Strumpf Cup

NYDC Boldest lost 9-0 to NYFC Illiria.

Port Jefferson Fusion defeated Deportivo Sociedade NY 2 on goals by Mike Anglim, Alex Tsirikonis, Joel Kleinberg, Brian Recurcio, and Daniel Lazo. With the win, the Fusion will face Williamsburg International FC in the Round of 16.

Hicksville American SC also advanced to the Round of 16 by winning 3-0 over Deportivo Sociedade NY 1. Favio Garay, John Dembinski, and Jason Wong were the goalscorers for Hicksville who'll face American Outlaws Brooklyn in the next round.

A hat-trick by Khusanboev Zhurabek, 2 goals by Sunnatillo Khusanov and 1 goal from Alexis Escobar gave Kosmos United CY a 6-1 win over Homenetmen of New York. With the win, Kosmos advance to the Round of 16 where they'll face Blau Weiss Gottschee.

An Andi Loloci goal was not enough for Asteras GCC who lost 3-1 to Lansdowne Bhoys.

Marth Cup

Garden City Centennials lost 5-1 to New York Shamrock SC. Tom Theodorson was the Garden City goalscorer.

Integral Kings defeated Megas Alexandros by a score of 6-2. Ricardo Burke and Lawrence Maitland each scored 2 goals for Integral, while Kendon Garland and Anthony Sailman each scored 1 goal. With the win, Integral advance to the Round of 32 where they'll play Lansdowne Bhoys.

New York Hota Bavarians advanced to the Round of 16 on a forfeit by Manhattan Celtic Masters. They'll face the winner of the Round of 32 game between Port Jefferson SC and Brooklyn Gunners.

Port Jefferson advanced by defeating Manhattan Kickers Premier 2-1. Pete Hansen and Lamine Traore were the goalscorers for Port Jefferson.

Polonez advanced to the Round of 16 by defeating Central Park Rangers Legends 6-0. Pawel Borek and Jerzy Jankowicz each scored 2 goals, while Slawomir Jaworski scored once and CPR had an own goal. With the win, Polonez will face the winner of Lindenhurst and New York Greek Americans.

Lindenhurst advanced to that Round of 32 match-up by defeating Manhattan Celtic Bhoys 1-0 on a goal by Rob Meehan.

Glen Cove Avellino defeated Manhattan Kickers Legends 2-1 to advance to the Round of 32 where they'll face Central Park Rangers - Orange who defeated Long Island Gaels VSP by a score of 1-0.

Goals by Mauricio Allende and Noe Canales weren't enough for Oceanside United who lost to New York Shamrock Legends by a score of 4-2.

David Panchano and Jared Beschel both scored twice to give New York Polet a 4-0 win over Doxa FC Legends. With the win, Polet advance to the Round of 32 where they'll face Manhattan Celtic Legends.

John Paul Bucich gave the following account of Istria's win over Central Park Rangers Old Boys, "Although Istria was missing 4 starters, Silvio Zucchelli scored off a set piece in the 35th minute. They continued to fight hard taking a 1-0 lead until the 85th min, when CPR equalized. Lucas set the tone with the first PK and goalie Jung made 2 great saves to clinch it for Istria."

Istria won on penalty kicks 4-1 to advance to the Round of 32, where they'll face SC Gjoa.

Vargas Cup

Baisley United defeated Baldwin 2-0 to advance to the quarter-finals where they'll face Oyster Bay Park who advanced by defeating Lindenhurst on penalty kicks. Julio Marchant and Victor Escobar scored the goals for Oyster Bay, while Simon Riddiough scored twice for Lindenhurst who lost 4-2 on penalty kicks after a 2-2 tie.

New York Hota Bavarians defeated Oceanside United 5-2 to advance to the quarter-finals where they'll face Polonia who defeated Olympiacos New York 5-0.

Cheiek Tidiani and Jose Segovia each scored twice for Hota, while Adrian Romo added a goal. Michael Dube and Godswill Emenike were the goalscorers for Oceanside.

Piotr Golabek scored twice for Polonia, with Anton Camaj, Marcin Dziewulski, and Slawek Dziubek each scoring one goal.
