New York Hota Bavarians Over-40 Team after a win in the Vargas Cup

11/13/16 - This week in the LISFL saw several teams advance in the ENYSSA Cup competitions. New York Polet won all 3 of their games, while East Hampton FC came away with 2 wins. Several league games were also made up to keep the league on course before the winter break in December.

Manning Cup

Forest Park were defeated 4-3 by New York Greek Americans in a back and forth game that saw several lead changes. Forest Park led 2-0 at the half and 3-2 late in the game, but the Greek Americans scored two late goals to clinch the win. Andrew LoManto scored twice for Forest Park and David Lawrence added a goal.

Luis Correa scored the only goal that East Hampton would need as they defeated New York Athletic Club to advance to the quarter-finals where they'll face New York Shamrocks.

New York Polet defeated Manhattan Celtic 4-1 to advance to the semi-finals where they'll face Lansdowne Bhoys. Misin Shala scored 2 goals, while Raphael Abreu and Kyle Schlesinger added goals for Polet.

Polet and Lansdowne will also play each other in the ENYSSA Final of the Werner Fricker Open Cup on Wednesday, November 30 at Mitchel Field. Kick-off will be 9 PM. Polet advanced to the final with after winning the Rapaglia Cup in September. Lansdowne advanced with a 3-1 win over Cedar Stars Academy last Friday night. The winner of the Polet vs Lansdowne game will advance to the regional stages of the competition.

D'Arpino Cup

East Hampton defeated Glen Cove Avellino 2-0 on goals by Eddy Juarez and Furkan Akyol. With the win, East Hampton advance to the quarter-finals where they'll face the winner of the New York Shamrocks vs Zum Schneider Round of 16 game.

Port Jefferson were defeated by New York Athletic Club by a score of 4-0. Real New York FC also came up short in a 5-0 loss to New York Ukranians.

New York Polet defeated CD Iberia 4-2 to advance to the quarter-finals where they'll face New York Athletic Club. Eric Mirkov scored twice, while Ivan Vulin and Larry Linan added goals for Polet.

Flamhaft Cup

Mineola Portuguese were defeated by El Salvador from the Eastern District Soccer League by a score of 3-1. Zach Gould scored the goal for Mineola.

Inter New York SA forfeited to Floral Park who advance to face New York Ukranians in the quarter-finals.

A goal from Joe Meagher was not enough for the FDNY College Point Flames who lost to FC Spring Valley 4-3 on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw.

Strumpf Cup

Goals from Ryan Reichmann and Andres Zuluaga weren't enough to win the game for Hicksville Americans during regulation time. However, they did prevail 6-5 on penalty kicks over American Outlaws Brooklyn to reach the quarter-finals where they'll face Williamsburg International FC.

Kosmos United CY weren't as fortunate as they were defeated 6-5 on penalty kicks by Blau Weiss Gottschee after a 3-3 regulation draw. Alexis Escobar, Sunnatillo Khusanov, and Khusanboev Zhurabek were the goalscorers for Kosmos.

Port Jefferson Fusion lost 8-1 to Williamsburg. Oisin Keenan was the goalscorer for the Fusion.

Marth Cup

Integral Kings defeated Lansdowne Bhoys 4-0 to advance to a Round of 16 game with New York Shamrocks. Ricardo Burke, Nateka Simmons, Jermaine Chambers, and Lawrence Maitland were the goalscorers for Integral.

Naim Kurtovic led the way for New York Polet with a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Manhattan Celtic Legends. David Panchano also scored for Polet who advance to the Round of 16 where they'll face Baisley United.

Istria SC a continued their strong season with a 5-0 win over SC Gjoa. Silvio Zucchelli, Rosairio Chiarenza, Osumanu Otoo, Daniel Peros, and Michele Giacobbone were the goalscorers. Istria advance to the Round of 16 where they'll face the winner of the Blau Weiss Gottschee vs Cozmoz FC game.

Port Jefferson SC defeated the Brooklyn Gunners 3-0 to advance to the Round of 16 where they'll face New York Hota Bavarians. Lamine Traore, Moussa Keita, and Stanley LaRouche were the goalscorers.

Lindenhurst came up short in a 3-2 loss to New York Greek Americans. Michael Hobbs and Steven Jenns were the goalscorers for Lindenhurst.

Glen Cove Avellino won 6-2 over Central Park Rangers - Orange to advance to the Round of 16 where they'll face New York Shamrocks Legends. Irasto Knights scored a hat-trick, Samuel Minaya scored twice, and Damion James had a goal for Glen Cove.

Vargas Cup

New York Hota Bavarians defeated Polonia 3-1 to advance to the semi-finals. Adrian Romo, Raymond Campbell, and Oscar Estrada were the goalscorers for Hota, while Mariusz Dziewulski scored for Polonia.

Baisley United defeated Oyster Bay Park 7-2 to setup a semi-final match-up with Hota. O'Neil Johnson scored a hat-trick, Anthony McCreath scored twice, Maurice Davis and Patrick James each had a goal for Baisley.

Division 2

In league play, New York Olympiacos defeated College Point FSC 3-1 on goals from Leandro Caldas, Thomas Mastoras, and Dennis Amvrosiatos.

Division 3

Asteras continued their good run of form with a 6-1 win over South Jamaica Portuguese. Christopher Petsalis scored 4 goals to lead the way for Asteras, while Enri Meqemeja and Wesley Magyar added goals.

Over-30 Division

Garden City Centennials and New York Hota Bavarians battled to a 4-4 draw. Samuel Ortega, Phil Ng, Ed Vincent, and John Sardelis were the goalscorers for Garden City. Dan Fisher, Jordan Russolillo, Marlon Bourne, and Cem Dumankaya were the Hota goalscorers.

Baisley United picked up three points with a 2-0 win over Polonez. Donovan Bernard and Kevin McCleary scored the goals for Baisley.

Over-50 Division

New York Hota Bavarians picked up their second win of the day by a score of 3-0 over Olympiacos New York. Raymond Campbell scored his second goal of the day for Hota, while Patrick O'Connor and Bryan Warde added goals.
